A Letter of Intent was signed between Angel Foundation and United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Regional Office for South Asia, in New Delhi on August 28, 2008. The Partnership document was signed by Ms. Angeli Kapoor Puri, Founder of Angel Foundation. Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Puri, said, "For a woman to live life with dignity, economic empowerment is very crucial, especially to come out of domestic violence and to protest against other crimes, such as female foeticide and human trafficking. We are very happy to partner with United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime for their campaign-Global Initiative to Fight Human Trafficking and are confident that we will be able to better address the issue of women empowerment together."
